The Deputy Minister for Asia, the Middle East and Oceania of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Eduardo Ramírez, spoke this Friday, representing the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, at the Ministerial Meeting of the Hague Group in Defense of International Law, within the framework of the 81st session of the General Assembly of the United Nations Organization (UN), which takes place in New York, United States.

During the meeting, the Venezuelan diplomat reaffirmed the central importance of international law and the Charter of the United Nations as fundamental pillars to guarantee peaceful coexistence between nations, stressing that their application must be coherent and universal.

He emphasized that the credibility of the multilateral system depends directly on the capacity of the international community to apply the same standards of protection equally in any scenario, preventing international justice from losing strength in the face of the perception of selectivity.

Finally, the Deputy Minister said that Venezuela will continue to contribute from its principles and through dialogue, within the framework of Bolivarian Peace Diplomacy, to efforts aimed at achieving comprehensive and lasting peace, based on international law and on the purposes and principles of the United Nations Charter.
