Venezuela consolidates itself as the leader in digital sports in the American continent

The national tricolor continues to stand out in every Digital Sports event in which our country participates. This time, at the 2024 BRICS Games held in the city of Kazan, Russia, from June 11 to 22, our national soccer team Figital won the bronze medal in an exciting tournament.

With a resounding victory of 6 to 5 (4 to 4 in the digital stage and 2 to 1 in the physical stage) against the Brazilian national team, our boys secured third place in this tournament, in which the host country, Russia, was the champion.

With this victory, plus the one obtained in February of this year in The Games of the Future, Venezuela is consolidating itself as the strongest country in this innovative sports modality in the American continent, above the main powers in the region, thanks to the support of the National Government through the Ministry of Popular Power for Youth and Sports.

Digital soccer is a sports discipline that combines traditional soccer with eFootball. A digital stage is played first in the video game EAFC 24 on PlayStation 5, where 4 athletes per team participate. Then, in the physical stage, the same players join others and enter the futsal field to play a 5 vs 5 match, the final score being the sum of digital and physical goals.

In the country there is already the Venezuelan Digital Sports Federation (FEVEFIGITAL), created in May of this year, the third in the world and the first in the American continent, the entity responsible for the development and promotion of this sports modality that includes 16 disciplines, some hybrid such as football, basketball, car racing, tactical shooting, MMA and dance simulator, as well as other purely digital ones such as the battle of robots and drone racing.

Fevefigital now has its website www.fvdf.org available, where everyone interested in being part of the country's digital ecosystem can register. The world is evolving and every day new forms of entertainment and sports are born. Without a doubt, this is the future of sport and Venezuela is committed to staying at the forefront of these new modalities as a world power.
