In an official statement, the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela congratulated the people of Brazil on election day this Sunday. This was announced by the Foreign Ministry from its user on the social network Instagram.

Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela Communiqué

The Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela congratulates the massive and civic participation of the people of the Federative Republic of Brazil in the second round of elections held today, which led to the victory of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.

The people of Brazil have given a strong demonstration of civic and democratic participation.

Venezuela reiterates its willingness to continue the historic ties of neighborhood and cooperation with Brazil, under the principles of peace, unrestricted respect for sovereignty, the self-determination of peoples and Latin American and Caribbean solidarity.
