Venezuela congratulates Haitham Al Ghais after being re-elected as Secretary General of OPEC

The Executive Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, congratulated Haitham Al Ghais after the member countries of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) unanimously ratified his term as Secretary General, for an additional period of three years.

“We see in Secretary Al Ghais the spirit of the OPEC Declaration of Cooperation plus, which reached 8 years of existence this December 10, contributing to the balance of the international energy market for the sake of the stability of the world economy,” said the Venezuelan official, who is in Riyadh, capital of the United Arab Emirates through her account on the social network Telegram.

On behalf of the President of the Republic Nicolás Maduro, Rodríguez Gómez congratulated Secretary Al Ghais and assured that with his leadership, OPEC will continue to respond effectively to the challenges of the future.
