Venezuela condemns brutal Janjaweed militia campaigns in Sudan (+statement)

The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela condemned this Wednesday the brutal campaigns of the Janjaweed militia against the villages and cities of Al-Jazirah and Al-Butana, in Sudan, and called on the international community to take measures to curb crimes against humanity.

In a statement, released by the Minister of People's Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, on his Telegram channel, the Bolivarian Government reaffirmed “its ties of friendship and unrestricted solidarity with the Sudanese Government and People” and reiterated its repudiation of “any act against the security and stability of States”.

The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela categorically rejects the brutal campaigns of the Janjaweed militia against villages and cities in the eastern regions of Al-Jazirah and Al-Butana, in the Republic of the Sudan.

The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela urgently appeals to the international community to condemn these acts in a strong manner and to take the necessary measures to hold the perpetrators, leaders and sponsors of such crimes against humanity to account.

The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela reaffirms its ties of friendship and unrestricted solidarity with the Sudanese Government and People, and takes the opportunity to ratify, within the framework of International Law and Bolivarian Peace Diplomacy, the repudiation of any act against the security and stability of States.
