The Minister of Popular Power for Electric Energy, Rolando Alcalá, together with the president of the National Electric Corporation (CORPOELEC), Juan Fernández, highlighted the progress of a series of major projects in transmission, renewable energy and high-level technical alliances with multinational companies.

In this regard, the owner of the electricity portfolio specified that the Venezuelan State and CORPOELEC maintain strategic alliances with international technology corporations to recover, repower and modernize the National Electricity System (SEN).

“The Venezuelan State has consolidated strategic alliances with international companies of the highest technological level to undertake works at the Simón Bolívar Hydroelectric Power Plant (Guri), in alliance with the firm Eurobrush, which will carry out tasks for the reactivation and set-up of machines 17, 18 and 20,” Alcalá said.

He added that the Tocoma and Macagua Projects will be carried out together with the company Impsa, which is developing plans for adaptation and continuity in hydroelectric developments in the lower Caroní.

With regard to thermal regeneration and original parts, direct agreements with multinationals such as General Electric and Siemens stood out, which guarantee the supply of spare parts and original technology to repower generation, transmission and distribution processes at the national level.
