Venezuela and Vietnam reaffirm ties of friendship and comprehensive cooperation

As part of the celebration of the 79th anniversary of the independence of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the Minister of People's Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, highlighted the comprehensive cooperation between the two nations since the arrival of the Bolivarian Revolution.

The Foreign Minister, who accompanied the protocol reception in Caracas with the Deputy Minister for Asia, the Middle East and Oceania, Tatiana Pugh, and the Deputy Minister for Latin America, Rander Peña, highlighted the example that the Vietnamese people gave to the world in their fight against North American imperialism.

“Since the beginning of the Bolivarian Revolution, the president and Eternal Commander, Hugo Chávez, always guided the example of Vietnam, which taught the world and history what a people, a small town, can do compared to the empires they had to face,” said Gil.

As for the areas of cooperation, the head of the diplomatic office specified that they have continued to work in recent years and the fields that they will develop for the future.

“This relationship has allowed us to develop rice fields; we also made progress on oil issues, with difficulties, today we are resuming them. We take on a new task in the industrial field, in the pharmaceutical field, in the telecommunications field, we reaffirm the agricultural issue, transport”, explained the Minister.

For his part, the ambassador of Vietnam, Vu Trung My, highlighted the exchange between the two nations, while reiterating his country's support for the Venezuelan Government, led by President Maduro, for integral and sustainable development.

“We are pleased to see that in recent years, relations of traditional friendship and comprehensive Vietnam-Venezuela partnership have continued to develop, thanks to the exchange of delegations at all levels. Vietnam has reiterated its support for Constitutional President Nicolás Maduro and we want to connect and deepen the comprehensive relationship between the two countries,” stressed the Head of Mission accredited in Caracas.
