Venezuela and Vietnam promote cooperation projects in agricultural matters

The meeting established the exchange of personnel specializing in the field

The Minister for Productive Agriculture and Lands, Wilmar Castro Soteldo, led a working meeting with the commission of the Communist Party of Vietnam, from Ho Chi Min province and technicians in the agricultural area, in which agreements were established to work together on cooperation projects in agricultural matters.

The information was released by the aforementioned Ministry, in a press release published on its website, in which it states that the exchange of personnel specialized in the field, the development of animals with a high level of performance and the application of biotechnology for agriculture was established.

In this regard, Castro Soteldo explained that the goals to be met are: expanding the rice production frontier to 500 thousand hectares, increasing soy production to 400 thousand hectares, developing urban agriculture and deepening macro agreements for the training of technicians.

He also indicated that Venezuela currently provides knowledge in the management of potato seeds, genetic improvement in ruminants, and also twinning for productive activity between the Mekong Delta and the Orinoco Delta.

For his part, the representative of the delegation of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Nguyen Ho Hai, stressed that this meeting will open up a recovery for the province of Ho Chi Minh and Venezuela.

“On this basis of mutual benefits, solidarity and recovery, we hope that these proposals will be fruitful with cooperation between both nations,” he said.
