Venezuela and Uganda reaffirmed ties of cooperation and friendship

The Foreign Minister of the Republic, Yván Gil, held a meeting with his Ugandan counterpart, Haji Odongo, at which they reaffirmed the ties of friendship and diplomatic alliances between their countries.

According to information from Venezolana de Televisión, the meeting was formalized after Odongo's visit to the swearing-in ceremony of the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro; and this meeting was held at the Convention Center of La Carlota, Miranda state.

“At this meeting, we reaffirm our diplomatic alliance and the ties of friendship between our countries, as well as our commitment to continue cooperation and exchange in sectors of mutual interest,” the Venezuelan Foreign Minister explained on his Telegram channel.

Before traveling to Caracas, Minister Odongo received in audience the Venezuelan ambassador accredited to Kampala, Fátima Fernandes, to whom he transmitted the greetings of the Ugandan president, Yoweri Museveni, to his Venezuelan counterpart.

In addition, Foreign Ministers Gil and Odongo held a previous meeting in New York, United States, during September 2024, regarding their participation in the 79th session of the General Assembly of the United Nations.
