Venezuela and Trinidad and Tobago have significant unassociated gas fields on their maritime borders, including the Cocuina Field, which is naturally unified with the Caribbean country's Manakin Field.

This was stated by the state company Petrleos de Venezuela (PDVSA), through its account on the social network X, in which it reported on the meeting between the board of directors of PDVSA and the Trinidadian state company National Gas Company (NGC).

D emphasized that “the development of the Cocuina-Manakin Fields, together with that of the Dragon Field, makes this maritime environment the most important gas cluster in the Caribbean.”

He also noted that PDVSA and the Trinidadian state National Gas Company (NGC), “have established technical panels for joint work in order to increase and accelerate investment policies for the development of these fields, together with the international company BP.”

Venezuela is progressing in the certification process of more than 50 blocks in the Caribbean Gas Belt, which could place our country among the top five with the largest gas reserves in the world, deepening its insertion in the markets of this energy sector,” he stressed.
