The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Félix Plasencia, held a working meeting this Wednesday, October 7, with the Undersecretary of the United States Department of Commerce, David L. Fogel, with the objective of reviewing the bilateral agenda and evaluating ways to strengthen economic exchange between the two nations.

The meeting was held at the Yellow House, following the direct guidance of the President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, Plasencia reported in a message posted on her Instagram account.

During the day, both officials discussed growth projections and opportunities in commercial matters.

Plasencia ratified the willingness of the Bolivarian Government to move towards greater economic complementarity, while respecting the historical exchange relationship that has characterized the bilateral link.

“We reiterate to Undersecretary Fogel Venezuela's willingness to deepen economic and commercial ties with the United States, in line with the historic proposal of a relationship of exchange and complementarity between the two countries,” he said.

He added that there was discussion “about the great growth potential of the commercial relationship between our countries.”

The foreign minister also emphasized Caracas' willingness to deepen strategic and commercial alliances with Washington, for the benefit of the productive development of both nations.
