Venezuela and South Africa to explore opportunities to expand bilateral cooperation

The Minister
of People's Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, held a
telephone conversation with the Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of the
Republic of South Africa, Ronald Lamola.
According to information published by the head of the Bolivarian
Diplomacy for Peace, in his account on the social network X, the conversation was
conducive to reviewing the bilateral agenda and exploring opportunities to expand cooperation.
Gil added that the advantages that Venezuela
could bring to the BRICS were also discussed.
Relations
between South Africa and Venezuela have been one of respect and cooperation,
having their greatest point of solidarity after the support of the Caribbean nation in the face of the legal
actions taken by Pretoria in the International Court of
Justice (ICJ) against Israel for the genocide of the Palestinian people.
Since December 3, 1993, when these nations established diplomatic relations, 18 agreements have been signed in the areas of politics, trade, energy, oil, gas, youth, education, security and communications.
