Representatives of the embassies of Venezuela and Serbia held a bilateral meeting, in order to strengthen political dialogue and cooperation between the two nations, from the foreign ministry spaces of the central-western Balkan country.

At the meeting, the Venezuelan ambassador to the Republic of Serbia, Jaidys Briceño and the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of this European country, Dusan Kozarev, highlighted the importance of reciprocal visits by senior officials for the strengthening of relations, the most recent of which was that of the president of the Serbian National Assembly, Ana Brnabić, to Caracas, in the context of the takeover of inauguration of President Nicolás Maduro last January.

Both diplomats welcomed the approval and entry into force of the Agreement on the Abolition of Visas for Ordinary Passport Holders, which will undoubtedly increase the exchange between the two countries.

In addition, they agreed on the need to expand the legal framework to strengthen relations in all areas, especially economic, business and commercial cooperation.

The meeting allowed Ambassador Briceño to present the new agenda of aggression of the United States against Venezuela, especially the new executive orders aimed at the hydrocarbons sector, Venezuelan migration, and the measures taken by the Bolivarian Government to address these delicate issues.

Officials agreed on the importance of dialogue and cooperation to face common challenges, especially in a complex and turbulent international context.
