In the context of the upcoming celebration of the Second High-Level Joint Commission between Venezuela and Saudi Arabia, preparatory and technical meetings between the parties began in the “Simon Bolivar” Hall of the Ministry of People's Power for Foreign Affairs.

These meetings seek to define the negotiations of the agreements that will be submitted for consideration by the authorities for signature at the Second High-Level Joint Commission; and they are organized by the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry and the Ministry of People's Petroleum Power, the latter responsible for the Technical Secretariat of the Commission.

Through the installed work tables, the instruments to be signed by the parties in the city of Riyadh will be defined. They also aim to achieve rapprochement between the two nations, to review and deepen relations of friendship and bilateral cooperation.

Regarding this Commission, the Minister of Popular Power for Foreign Affairs of Venezuela, Yván Gil, recently met with the ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia accredited to Caracas, Abdullah Muhammad Al Saihani, in order to discuss the issue and expand areas of collaboration.

In 2015, the First Joint High-Level Commission between Venezuela and Saudi Arabia was held. To date, the parties have signed several multilateral and bilateral agreements that draw a road map for the development of both peoples, under the win-win vision. Bilateral relations between Caracas and Riyadh were officially established in 1952.
