Venezuela and Russia sign cooperation agreements in strategic areas (+sports, military, communications)

With regard to the celebration of the XVIII meeting of the Venezuela-Russia High-Level Intergovernmental Commission (CIAN), this Thursday in Caracas, new agreements were signed in the fields of telecommunications, science and technology, sports, and technical-military.


In this regard, the executive vice president, Delcy Rodríguez, explained that Venezuela and Russia agreed, through the technical-military subcommittee, to exchange cooperation for the “protection of our territorial integrity and the guarantee of our sovereignty”.


With regard to the subcommittee on Communications and Digital Development, he stressed the importance of making progress in this area “without them becoming a tool that goes against the essential principles and values of the human being”.


He also reported that Venezuela, a power of the future, is rooted in “human values of deep respect for nature and one of the essential foundations has to do with scientific and technological independence and the consolidation of an educational process that allows Venezuela to be inserted into the great mechanisms of international development”; this is to refer to the subcommittee on Science and Technology.



Finally, with regard to the Sports and Youth subcommittee, he thanked the Russian support “to bring coaches to Venezuela to help us prepare for the various international events and future Olympic events; may our golden generation, our youth find technical support from Russian coaches”.
