The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the Russian Federation began this Friday in Caracas a series of rapid response exercises to health and epidemiological emergencies.

Through its Telegram channel, the Russian Embassy in Venezuela reported that these exercises are part of the technical-scientific agreements maintained by both nations.

The diplomatic body explained that the tests are developed “with the use of mobile laboratories for the rapid detection and control of potential threats”, to reinforce “joint preparation to prevent and control epidemiological risks, underlining the importance of bilateral cooperation between Russia and Venezuela in this key area.”

Caracas and Moscow recently signed 17 cooperation agreements during the XVI meeting of the Russia-Venezuela High Level Commission; in areas such as energy, trade, air transport and security, as well as an intelligence and counterintelligence pact.
