The Minister of Popular Power for Foreign Affairs of Venezuela, Yván Gil, and his counterpart from the Kyrgyz Republic (Kyrgyzstan), Jeenbek Kulubaev, signed an important bilateral cooperation agreement this Friday, during a meeting held in New York, in the context of the 79th session of the General Assembly of the United Nations (UN).
This is the agreement to abolish visas for holders of diplomatic and service passports, the first alliance between the two countries, which established diplomatic relations on September 28, 2018, during the participation of their delegations in the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly, according to a press release from the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry.
“Through these agreements, our nations are committed to strengthening cooperation and working together to promote the development and well-being of our peoples,” Foreign Minister Gil said in a message released through his Telegram channel.
In February 2024, President Nicolás Maduro appointed the Diplomatic Mission of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to the Republic of Kazakhstan to assume membership in that nation. The Venezuelan ambassador accredited to Astana, Rosalba Lo Bue Antico, has the approval of the Kyrgyz government and is in the process of being accredited.
