The Minister for Science and Technology, Gabriela Jiménez Ramírez, held a meeting this Wednesday with authorities from the International Italian-Latin American Organization (IILA), in order to strengthen cooperation ties between the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the Italian Republic.

“We had a fruitful meeting with the authorities of the International Italian-Latin American Organization (IILA), led by its secretary Giorgio Silli and his advisor, Ana Bonilla,” said the Minister.

This meeting, according to a press release from the Ministry of Science and Technology, was also attended by the ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to the Italian Republic, María Elena Uzzo Giannattasio, and other representatives of the Venezuelan delegation.

Minister Jiménez highlighted the opportunity for exchange in the scientific-technological area, in addition to noting that the Bolivarian Diplomacy of Peace and Science has promoted technical cooperation in “technologies for adaptation to the climate crisis, molecular biology, aerospace sciences, nanotechnology, biotechnology and other branches of interest for the development of both parties.”

The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Minister for the Development of Information and Communication Technologies of the Ministry for Science and Technology (Mincyt), Raúl Hernández.

It is worth mentioning that these are relationships between countries firmly based on sovereignty, self-determination and international solidarity in science, technology and innovation.

Finally, Gabriela Jiménez pointed out that all these strategic actions comply with the guidelines of the President in Charge, Delcy Rodríguez, “for building alliances that promote sustainable development, innovation and the well-being of our peoples.”
