Venezuela and Indonesia strengthen bilateral ties in Uganda

As part of the agenda simultaneous to the XIX Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement (MNOAL), Venezuela and Indonesia, under the figures of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Asia, the Middle East and Oceania, Tatiana Pugh, and the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, Pahala Nugraha Mansury, met this Saturday in Uganda to strengthen bilateral ties.

Diplomats addressed the development of the signed instruments in areas of common interest, in order to accelerate the expected results and benefits for their peoples.

In 2023, Venezuela and Indonesia held several mutual strengthening meetings, at which they ratified the promotion of binational cooperation in areas of strategic interest to peoples, in addition to mutual support in multilateral forums.

In July, within the framework of the Ministerial Meeting of the MNOAL Coordination Bureau in Azerbaijan, Deputy Minister Pugh held a cordial and fraternal meeting with the Deputy Minister of Multilateral Cooperation of Indonesia, Tri Tharyat, in which they reviewed previously signed bilateral agreements and instruments, as well as the common agenda in the field of trade, tourism and energy relations.

In September, the national anti-drug superintendent, M/G Richard López Vargas, met with the director of the National Anti-Narcotics Agency of the Republic of Indonesia, Petrus Reinhard Golose, in order to strengthen cooperation in the fight against illegal trafficking in drugs and psychotropic substances, as well as their chemical precursors and related crimes.

Also in 2023, the parliamentary friendship group between the two countries was installed.
