Venezuela and India make progress on key issues such as alternative energy, trade and investment

The Minister of People's Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, held a working meeting this Wednesday with the Indian ambassador accredited to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Shri P K Ashok Babu, to strengthen relations of friendship and cooperation between the two nations.
“We address key issues of bilateral relations, such as alternative energies, trade, investments and, of course, our intention to join BRICS+ to contribute to the development of our peoples through multipolarity,” said the Venezuelan Foreign Minister through his account on the social network X.
Diplomatic relations between Venezuela and India were established in 1959; since then, they have maintained solid ties of friendship and strategic commercial cooperation, characterized by cordiality, complementarity and mutual respect between peoples
With the arrival of the Bolivarian Revolution, Caracas and New Delhi have been responsible for strengthening their alliances by signing agreements, thanks to which there are products from the Indian pharmaceutical industry and other items, such as iron pellets and electrical cables, among others; and Indian businessmen have visited the South American country, who have invested in different areas.
This South Asian country belongs to the BRICS economic group (initially formed by Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa), being one of the nations of the international block of great importance for Venezuela.
