The Executive Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, held a meeting with the Colombian ambassador to Venezuela, Milton Rengifo, a meeting that aimed to review the binational cooperation map and the current trade agreements between the two nations.

The meeting was held at the headquarters of the Ministry of People's Power for Economy, Finance and Foreign Trade.

Among the outstanding agreements is the creation of the Colombia-Venezuela Neighborhood and Integration Commission, signed in Brasilia on May 30, 2023, an important initiative to further unify the closeness between the two peoples.

In addition, the partial scope agreement of a commercial nature, number 28, originally adopted in November 2011 and amended on February 16, 2023 by the presidents of both countries, was reactivated.

Talks also resumed related to the mutual investment protection agreement, established on February 03 of the same year, which seeks to provide security, transparency and guarantees to investors from both countries.

Likewise, the restoration of the pact on international cargo and passenger transport by road, signed in August 2014 and ratified in May 2023 and during 2024, four new consulates are expected to open, which will strengthen cooperation between the Colombian East and the Venezuelan West.

Ambassador Rengifo reported during the day that several Colombian companies are interested in investing in Venezuela in various areas, which augurs a promising future for binational economic collaboration.
