The Minister of People's Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil -who is on an official visit to Beijing, leading a Venezuelan delegation-, participated this Thursday in a symposium at the Institute of International Studies of China (CIIS), where the importance of working with each other to strengthen the education system was highlighted.

The Venezuelan Foreign Minister, accompanied by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Asia, the Middle East and Oceania, Tatiana Pugh, specified that during the activity he spoke with his Chinese peers “about the relevance of student exchange and scholarships in creating a future of integration and multipolarity.”

The visit of the Venezuelan delegation to China is part of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, formalized on June 28, 1974, which began with minimal commercial and energy cooperation until in 1999, with the arrival of the Bolivarian Revolution led by Commander Hugo Chávez, they acquired a strategic character at the highest level, drawing a comprehensive map to prioritize shared benefit, under the principles of mutual respect, equality, complementarity and non-intervention.

At the XVII China-Venezuela High Level Joint Commission (CMAN), in September 2023, held during President Nicolás Maduro's trip to the Asian nation, 31 new bilateral agreements were signed, consolidating the alliance at a new level.
