Venezuela and Chile agreed to take concrete actions aimed at strengthening cooperation between the two countries
This was reported by the Deputy Minister for Latin America of the Foreign Ministry of the Republic of Venezuela, Rander Peña.
In his account on the social network X, he said: “We have brought to Chile the fraternal and cooperative message of the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro”, referring to the meeting he held with the Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs of Chile, Gloria de la Fuente, together with his counterpart from the Interior, Manuel Monsalve.
He stressed that “it was a very good meeting”.
Peña specified that at the meeting, “we have discussed and agreed on concrete actions that strengthen cooperation between our countries. We are moving in the right direction!”
In addition, in its account on the social network X, the Chilean Foreign Ministry explained that the meeting took place after the First Meeting of Ministers and High Authorities of Public Security and Organized Crime of the Brasilia Consensus, held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and that it was inaugurated by the President of the Republic, Gabriel Boric.
At the hearing, the authorities discussed issues of common interest, such as international collaboration in the fight against organized crime and cooperation for the expulsion of people who are undocumented or who have committed crimes in Chile.
The Chilean ambassador to Venezuela, Jaime Gazmuri, and of Venezuela to Chile, Arévalo Méndez, also participated in the meeting.
