On September 2, 2003, the VEA Journal was created as a communication trench to combat the media war against the Bolivarian Revolution.

“There were no newspapers to defend President Chávez,” said Guillermo García Ponce, founder of the newspaper, in an interview with the Correo del Orinoco in 2011.

For his part, Carlos Servando Ponce, Guillermo's son, stated that this medium was his father's dream since his youth, which became possible in Revolution.

The VEA Journal has stood out for its truthful and timely information thanks to the commitment and conviction of García Ponce's legacy, which has continued in these 21 years of communication battle.
