The treating doctors of Pope Leo XIV revealed this Wednesday that after the intervention performed on the Supreme Pontiff on October 13, it was determined that he does not require additional treatment after the removal of the malignancy in the lung.

“The results of the final histological studies and molecular biological analyses of the material extracted during potato surgery confirmed that the tumor was a localized lung adenocarcinoma. A subsequent oncological examination confirmed that no additional treatment is required,” details the medical report distributed by the Holy See.

As will be recalled on October 13, the 71-year-old pontiff underwent surgery in which the lower lobe of his right lung was removed. Five days later, he left the hospital, greeted the believers with the traditional homily and held a normal general audience on October 21.
