The director of the Vatican Press Office, Matteo Bruni, reported that Pope Francis' health condition remains stable, showing signs of improvement in his recovery.

In this regard, Bruni specified that the latest blood tests have shown normal results, and a recent chest X-ray has confirmed a significant improvement in the previously detected pulmonary infectious disease.

He also indicated that the Pontiff remains under therapeutic treatment, which has facilitated advances in his motor skills, breathing and use of the voice.

He stressed that the Pope uses high-flow oxygenation through nasal cannulas, especially during nights or when additional respiratory assistance is required.

Regarding the recent decisions of Pope Francis, it was reported that Cardinal Fabio Baggio, C.S., undersecretary of the Dicastery for the Service of Integral Human Development, was appointed as a member of the Administration of the Patrimony of the Apostolic See.

The Pontiff also appointed Cardinal Mario Grech, Secretary General of the General Secretariat of the Synod, as his special envoy for the closing ceremony of the 4th centenary of the assignment to the Blessed Virgin Mary of the title of “Consolation of the Afflicted,” Patroness of Luxembourg. This event is scheduled for May 25, 2025.
