On March 6, 1937, Valentina Tereshkova, a Russian engineer, politician and astronaut, was born, who became the first woman to reach space.

Raised by proletarian parents in the post-war USSR, Tereshkova went to school at the age of eight, then abandoned her academic training to work in a textile factory.

As a teenager, he became interested in skydiving, and he made his first jump at the age of 22. Two years later she became secretary of the Union of Young Communists and later became part of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union.
