In a new episode of broken promises, the far-right opposition member María Corina Machado assumed this Friday that she is unable to run as a candidate for the presidential elections on July 28 and, despite having denied this possibility, appointed a replacement to register with the National Electoral Council (CNE).

The nominations before the electoral body began this Thursday, March 21 and, after several failed attempts, the disqualified finally decided to name her replacement, making it clear that her slogan “to the end” achieved its last stop and became another unfulfilled promise.

At a press conference from the headquarters of the Vente Venezuela party, Machado gave his arm to twist after an alleged agreement he reached with the extremist sectors of the Venezuelan opposition to stay on the electoral route, after the destabilization plans against the country were dismantled by the national authorities, for which several members of his close team, such as Henry Alviares and Dignora Hernández, were arrested.

From the early hours it was rumored that Machado had failed in his intention to get his replacement to be a leader belonging to the Unitary Platform, because they, faced with the impossibility of a triumph against the candidate of the Revolution, President Nicolás Maduro, decided to refuse, so the disqualified one had to turn to a stranger in politics.
