A report by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs detailed that Israeli settlers set a record for the number of attacks against Palestinians in the West Bank and East Jerusalem in 2024 with approximately 1,400 incidents, the Venezuelan News Agency (AVN) reported, citing the Palestinian news agency Wafa.
The settlers “were involved in approximately 1,400 incidents of violence against Palestinian civilians in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, during 2024,” the document states.
The incidents included attacks, arson and incursions into Palestinian communities, as well as damage to agricultural land and destruction of property owned by local residents.
For its part, the Russian news agency, TASS, explained that due to Israeli actions, some 160,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, have died and been injured in the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023.
In addition, the settlers and the military intensified their attacks in the West Bank, as a result of which, according to the Gaza Ministry of Health, 835 people died and 6,700 were injured.
Israel launched an operation in the enclave to destroy Hamas' military and political structures and release all those kidnapped. The fighting in Gaza continues to this day. Clashes are also taking place in the West Bank.
