UN: 70% of verified deaths in Gaza are women and children

A report presented by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) noted that around 70% of those killed in Gaza by Israel are women and children.

In this regard, the research revealed that 44% of the victims were people aged 18 or under and children, between five and nine years old, were the largest age category.

“ Civilians, including children, women and men, have borne the brunt of the attacks, the 'total siege' and the various forms of continuous closure and blockade by the Israeli army in Gaza, through unprecedented levels of murders, deaths, injuries, famine, diseases, illnesses, displacements, arrests and destruction,” the report states.

So far , 43,665 deaths have been registered in Gaza since October 7, 2023, and the number of injured people has risen to 103,076.
