Tsunami, the renowned search and rescue dog, was officially presented as the mascot of the National and Paranational Youth Sports Games 2026, a designation that pays homage to their heroic work and transmits the values that accompany athletes from all over the country.
The Border Collie breed, recognized for its particular heterochromia (one blue eye and one brown eye) leaves its rescue uniform for a few days to wear the official sweater of the competition, whose celebration will take place in Caracas, Carabobo, Lara, Aragua and Guárico.
Tsunami clothing incorporates elements representative of the host regions and of the country's historical, cultural and architectural wealth.
The equestrian statue evokes Carabobo's historic feat, courage and fighting spirit; while the façade of a cathedral church represents the religious heritage and identity of Venezuelan communities.
The Warairarepano cable car and the urban complex of Caracas symbolize modernity and the aspiration to achieve great goals. For its part, the Barquisimeto Obelisk pays tribute to the state of Lara, the main venue of the sports event, and to its cultural pride and hospitality.
The representation of Samán de Güere identifies Aragua and reflects strength, historical roots and community shelter. In turn, the Morros de San Juan, in Guárico, evoke the firmness, resistance and mental strength needed to overcome the greatest challenges.
With Tsunami as their emblem, the 2026 Youth National and Paranational Sports Games project a message of fraternity between states, inclusion and teamwork.
His figure will accompany a generation of young athletes who will find in this competition an opportunity to demonstrate their talent, overcome their own limits and proudly represent their regions.
