Trump in favor of keeping TikTok in the US after the success of his campaign

The president-elect of the United States (USA), Donald Trump, was in favor of keeping the Chinese platform TikTok in the country, after the millions of views his content received during the presidential campaign.

The U.S. Senate passed a law eight months ago requiring the parent company ByteDance to get rid of the application, due to alleged national security concerns, in a case that is now in the hands of the Supreme Court.

The application could be banned in the United States on January 19, one day before Trump returns to the White House, if the highest court rules against ByteDance and no divestment occurs.

The elected president met this week with the CEO of TikTok, and said at a press conference that he had a “good relationship” with the platform thanks to the success of his campaign, Fuser News reports.
