Tropical wave No. 55 is approaching the national territory and is expected to enter Guiana Essequiba during the next few hours of October 5, as reported by the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (INAMEH) in its official weather monitoring report.

According to the agency's technical estimates, the low pressure system is currently moving to the northwest of Suriname, about 57° west longitude and south of 21° north latitude, advancing at a speed of approximately 35 kilometers per hour. Faced with this scenario, the meteorological authorities recommended that the population keep an eye on official warnings in the event of the possible presence of rains, showers and electric shocks in different regions.

The institutional report also detailed that so far this climate season, a total of 55 tropical waves have been recorded in the Atlantic basin, of which 49 have transited the Venezuelan geographical space. In addition, Inameh specified that tropical wave No. 54 is moving over Central America at 25 kilometers per hour, progressively moving away from the national zone of influence.

Faced with the passage of this new atmospheric phenomenon, the bodies of the National Risk Management and Civil Protection System remain deployed and on permanent alert throughout the country to monitor priority basins and infrastructures.
