The National Government is moving forward with the comprehensive rehabilitation works of the Pampatar International Pier, in the state of Nueva Esparta, a work that records 50% progress within the framework of the Venezuela Renace Plan, promoted by President Delcy Rodríguez.
Crews and technical personnel carry out work on the 145 meters long and 28 sections of this maritime structure, where the construction and complete installation of 11 sections has already been completed through the casting of concrete, stamped finish and installation of key structural elements such as load, side, mooring and impact beams.
The project encompasses the transformation of external areas into a highly attractive tourist complex, whose central point will display an eight-meter-high sculpture of the Virgin of the Valley on a fountain fed with seawater. The intervention also includes the creation of the Paseo Pampatar and the Beach Corridor with wooden pergolas that will connect directly to the historic San Carlos de Borromeo Castle, in addition to incorporating gastronomic areas, children's playground, parking areas and body identities representative of the region.
With this important maritime and recreational infrastructure project, the National Executive consolidates the tourist, fishing and historical potential of Margarita Island. This initiative rescues the architectural memory of the state of Nueva Esparta and guarantees decent spaces for faith, healthy recreation and economic development of the Neo-Spartan people.
