The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela,
Nicolás Maduro, exalted this Monday the fight against social inequality of the French
writer Víctor Hugo, commemorating 222 years since the birth of this master of letters.
“Víctor Hugo was born 222 years ago, a brilliant French
intellectual, politician, novelist, poet and playwright who, through
his work, criticized social inequality and fought to transform the culture, morals
and values of his time,” the Head of State highlighted in his X account.
On February 26, 1802, this
distinguished writer was born in the city of Paris, who dedicated his life to portraying humanity and the
complexities of the world in which he lives.
Among the most emblematic works of this humanist author,
is “Les Miserables”, considered one of the most
important works of universal literature, for its grammatical richness and for being the
portrait of a society where it deprives power, inequality and hypocrisy.
