One of the five conspiracies driven by North American imperialism and extremist factors of the Venezuelan opposition against the Homeland was the CITGO embargo, and one of those involved in the plot, Manuel Emilio Gedler Ceballos, told details of the preparation after being captured by the authorities.
Gedler Ceballos revealed, as the Venezuelan State had already reported, that Julio Borges is one of the main architects of the brazen theft of one of the nation's main assets in the United States (USA).
“I traveled to the Dominican Republic accompanying several Venezuelan businessmen, in order to have a meeting with Julio Borges, José Luis Mejías, Frany Rojas, a Florida lawyer named Jay and the Florida prosecutor were also present; this with the intention that the prosecutor would assemble a file to justify the blocking of OFAC licenses and also go against what the CITGO is to expropriate CITGO in 2017,” he confessed.
He added that “basically what these people wanted was a sabotage of the institutional gasoline system in Venezuela” and they handed him “a handwritten paper with instructions on how to carry out the operation and recruit people in the Constitution to carry out this sabotage procedure in the oil industry.”
“In that role, in 2018, Mr. Adolfo Mora was recruited by Mr. Daniel Rivas and Miguel Morales to cause a collapse in the Yaguas pipeline... and they were hired by an agent from Colombia,” he said.
