The traditional Blessing of the Sea was celebrated as every year in Higuerote, this Easter Sunday, with the participation of parishioners and visitors in the Marine Pergola in the town of Miranda state.
The bishop of the Diocese of Guarenas, Guatire and Barlovento, Monsignor Tulio Ramírez, was in charge of officiating the Eucharist, with a call for unity, in addition to thanking the fishing fruits offered by the Miranda coast to its inhabitants and tourists.
“Today we meet to thank our beautiful Mirandine coasts, which are a gift from God, but also to bless those men who are dedicated to fishing,” said Ramírez.
The Secretary General of Government, Luis García, celebrated the religious ceremony in which the blessing is given to the Mirandine waters, their fruits and workers, and took the opportunity to highlight that the holiday for Holy Week culminated in the state with positive indices compared to last year.
“The fishermen of Miranda can count on the support and support of the regional government,” he said, quoted in a press release from the Government of Miranda.
