Trade between the Russian Federation and the countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) registered an increase of 18% during the first half of 2026. The report highlights that, at the end of 2025, the volume of bilateral exchange exceeded 30 trillion rubles, equivalent to about 368.1 billion dollars. This was reported by the Prime Minister, Mikhail Mishusti n.
According to Telesur, Mishustin highlighted the block's financial consolidation, noting that “most of the transactions between Russia and the SCO countries are carried out in national currencies”, a dynamic that contrasts with the situation of five years ago, when these transactions “represented only half of the payments”.
In order to sustain this dynamism, allied nations agreed to make export and import processes more flexible, while promoting the incorporation of goods with greater added value and cooperation in the energy, industrial, agricultural and banking areas.
As part of the strategic agreements of the meeting, the member countries approved a comprehensive economic development plan with a projection to 2030. In addition, the teleSUR portal explained that “the creation of an organization's digital platform aimed at promoting multimodal international freight transport, as well as a database of industrial investment projects” was contemplated.
The work agenda will prioritize the formation of joint ventures, the encouragement of mutual investment and support for technological entrepreneurship. In this regard, the Russian representation made its national network of technology parks available to strengthen the block's infrastructure, in a significant year where the SCO is celebrating its 25th anniversary and Uzbekistan assumes the presidency of the Council of Heads of Government.
