Town of Monagas presents projects for the National Popular Consultation

Last Thursday, March 14, in Punta de Mata, Ezequiel Zamora municipality of Monagas state, the Espada de Bolívar Commune , the La Arboleda Community Council and other members of the organized Popular Power participated in the preparatory assembly for the National Popular Consultation of April 21, convened by President Nicolás Maduro.

Through a telephone message, the vice-president of the Community Councils and Communes United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Jorge Arreaza, explained to the community spokeswomen and spokespersons that this Consultation is a step to a higher level in the decision-making of the People's Power.

“We must move forward in solving our problems based on the planning and exclusive judgment of the organized people, so it is essential that the Communes and the Community Councils have updated their Concrete Agendas of Action (ACA) with the most relevant critical issues and the proposals for solutions based on the endogenous potentialities of the community, institutions and ministries where they have established Community Government Offices,” he said.

He confirmed that it is necessary to continue promoting these meetings to rescue the assembly spirit because “without this there is no Popular Power, without this we can be generating representatives but not real voices that listen to the majorities and that transmit the message and decisions of the majorities (...). The Communes and the Community Councils must determine the most important projects to be put to the vote and, with the support of the institutions, to implement them,” he said.

For his part, during the assembly, spokesman Eliécer Tineo, accompanied by Domingo León, the most voted spokesperson and member of the Water Board of the La Arboleda Community Council, stated that the La Espada de Bolívar Commune is made up of 12 Community Councils, which are 100% registered, like the rest of the Municipal Councils of the Zamora municipality.

He pointed out that in the Popular Consultation they will propose as projects: “Installation of a sewer network, a work that will definitely benefit the entire territory; Improve the garbage collection service; Installation of asphalt in the road corridor that covers the main street of Mi Jardín Zamorano, La Arboleda and Avenida 5 de Julio; Implementation of electrification and installation of luminaires; Creation of urban planning for people living in overcrowding and ranch of the 12 Community Councils of La Espada de Bolívar; Creation and maintenance of a network of water wells; and finally the Consolidation of sidewalks and sidewalks”.
