The governor of the state of Anzoátegui, Luis José Marcano, reported that the eastern state produces 25% of the national consumption of peanuts.

The regional president indicated that they estimate to reach 35% of consumption in the country with production at Mesa de Guanipa, where quality and flavor are recognized.

In a press release from the regional government, the state chief said that they promote the recovery and growth of the state's economy and the nation.

He said that nearly 400 hectares were cultivated in 2022, while in 2023 they reached 800 and they expect to reach 1,000 during this year.

“This is the result of the investment and trust of businessmen who believe in Anzoátegui and who, with the support of the National Government, are going to be able to increase production by generating wealth, resources, taxes and jobs,” said Marcano from the Peanut Processing Plant in the city of El Tigre, capital of the Simón Rodríguez municipality.
