Three thousand 527 road checkpoints are active to ensure a safe return to seasonal workers

A total of 3,527 road checkpoints in the country's 18 trunk roads were activated to ensure a safe return to the seasonal workers who mobilized during Easter 2024.

This was announced by the Deputy Minister of Prevention, Public Security and Peace Quadrants, G/D Endes Palencia, from the Tazón Toll, on the Centro Regional Highway, where he supervised the development of the actions of police and risk management bodies.

The deputy minister stressed that they have also had 552 road awareness rooms, in which officials of the National Institute of Land Transport (INTT), to guide drivers who have committed some type of violation or failed to comply with the established traffic regulations.

“We are jointly carrying out these tasks of supervising care for our people, primarily in terms of prevention, to reduce road accidents during this holiday,” said Palencia.

Regarding the device, he specified that it will be active until Monday afternoon, when the largest mobilization of people has ended, “so we will ensure that all those who return can do so safely and expeditiously, with the support of our citizen security bodies, the GNB and the National Risk Management System.”
