The square of the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary in Chiquinquirá, in Maracaibo state of Zulia, will receive thousands of devotees this October 31 for the traditional Bajada de la Virgen, a celebration that will begin at 5:00pm and for which an estimated attendance of more than 30,000 people is estimated.
In view of the expected turnout, the sanctuary authorities established a series of provisions to organize admission and ensure the conduct of the ceremony. Public access will begin at 3:00pm, while the doors will formally close at 4:30pm. Once inside the venue, attendees must go to the assigned sector and remain there throughout the activity, details the local press.
Among the established conditions, the dress code stands out, which requires formal and respectful clothing, with covered shoulders, chest, abdomen and knees. You will not be allowed to enter with shorts, miniskirts, leggings or caps. If necessary, the use of handkerchiefs or shawls is authorized.
The entry of food, alcoholic beverages, narcotic substances, cigarettes and vaping devices will also be restricted. The organization will not allow cellars, bulky bags or large baby cars either.
Regarding the use of electronic devices, the phones must be kept silent or vibrate during mass and the descent of the image. Photographs can only be taken from the space or seat assigned to each attendee.
The ceremony will be presided over by Monsignor José Luis Azuaje Ayala, archbishop of Maracaibo, together with bishops and priests from the region.
