There are 79 deaths due to floods in southern Brazil

A total of 79 people have died and 105 are missing is the balance left to date by the rains in southern Brazil .

Civil Defense personnel remain in the area in the face of the disaster, which is already considered to be the worst in the history of the region.

The state of Rio Grande do Sul, bordering Argentina and Uruguay and the one most affected by the rains, has caused the displacement of tens of thousands of people; 115,844 inhabitants have had to leave their homes and move to those of family and friends, while 18,487 have found accommodation in public shelters.
