On Tuesday, the local newspaper The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) published a report entitled “Behind Closed Doors”, interviewed 45 legislators and officials of the Joe Biden administration about the president's mental performance and highlighted the concerns of some visitors about cognitive impairment.

Biden, 81, is the longest-serving president in the United States (USA) and has faced skepticism from Republican voters and legislators about his ability to do his job. Many Republicans and even some Democrats told WSJ that the president showed his age in closed meetings.

The Democratic president met with congressional leaders in January to negotiate an agreement to send additional funds to Ukraine, sometimes speaking so softly that some people had a hard time hearing it, five people familiar with the meeting told WSJ.

The president read notes to highlight obvious points, paused for long periods and even closed his eyes for so long that some people at the meeting wondered if he had fallen asleep, Hispantv said in a quote to the American media.
