In Acarigua, Páez municipality, in the Portuguese state, a sewer reconstruction plan is under way, reaching the attention of 100 sections, trying to remedy the collapse of the wastewater network in one of the entity's main cities.

Mayor José Ángel López reported that they are currently working on the rehabilitation of two sections of sewers in the community of 15 de Marzo, “a work with which we reached the 100 sections intervened and recovered throughout the Páez municipality,” reported the Úlmas Noticias website.

“Here is a sign that what we promise we deliver,” said the official in an inspection of the work being carried out in the populous sector of the south of Acarigua, one of the areas of the city that suffers the most from the deterioration of the collectors.

He stated that the rehabilitation of a hundred sections of sewage that were fallen is an achievement of the direct coordination of national, regional and municipal governments to provide the people with solutions that translate into well-being and quality of life.

He said that in the 15 de Marzo community alone, about 2,100 inhabitants benefit from the recovery of the wastewater network and added that in that same sector, more than 78 water leaks are being corrected, both in the main pipeline and in household outlets.

López pointed out that the cause of these contingencies in drinking water systems is the increase in water flow pressure, as a result of the drilling and reactivation of deep wells in the southern area of Acarigua, where dozens of communities had not received vital liquid through pipes for up to 15 years.
