From the EU City of Maturín in Barquisimeto, Lara state, the Minister of Popular Power for Communes and Social Movements, Ángel Prado, accompanied by the mayor of the Iribarren municipality, Yanis Agüero, reported that 11,495 electoral centers are already active throughout the country, so that Venezuelans can choose the projects they want to be financed.

“Today we are living a historic day of participatory and proactive democracy. A total of 5,418 communes and communal circuits, with the impetus of 48,086 communal councils, have summoned their families and neighbors to choose from more than 37,000 projects proposed and previously debated in assemblies,” said Prado.

He also recalled that one project will be chosen for each commune. “This process not only solves local needs for services and quality of life, but it also sends a strong message to the world: Venezuela is committed to peace, unity, the collective resolution of its problems and the revival of the economy together with our president Delcy Rodríguez,” he said.

Prado highlighted the commitment of the Larense entity to strengthening Popular Power, stressing that the Lara state has a solid tradition of collective organization, backed by a dynamic community and cooperative movement.

“In the state of Lara, people have a culture of working collectively to address community problems but also to develop productive potential,” he added.

Finally, he called on all Venezuelans to go out and vote to help choose those projects that will improve the living conditions of our people. “This electoral process is very important, it is a day of participatory and leading democracy,” he reiterated.
