The Ministry of People's Power for Foreign Affairs, through the Pedro Gual Institute of Higher Diplomatic Studies, held this Tuesday the keynote conference “China and Latin America in the New World Order: Context of Peace Diplomacy promoted by President Nicolás Maduro”, by Deputy Rodolfo Sanz.

The event was held in the auditorium of the Bolivian Museum, in Caracas, and highlighted the importance of strategic alliances between the countries of the region and the Asian country, which positions itself as an important global partner, based on the premise of relationships of mutual respect and complementarity.

During his presentation, the president of the Institute for Higher Diplomatic Studies “Pedro Gual”, Pedro Sassone, stated that Venezuela is at the center of the geopolitical struggle in the region (...) Latin America is a disputed region, and in the dispute we are the fundamental central nucleus”.

In this regard, he stressed that China is breaking with the hegemony that the North American empire had maintained for more than a century, already in decline, in Latin America, which is part of a debate that is of great importance at the current juncture. “When you experience historic moments, sometimes you don't see the changes and their depth,” he said.

Deputy Rodolfo Sanz, vice-president of the Standing Committee on Energy and Petroleum of the National Assembly, explained the benefits of brotherly relations with the People's Republic of China and its political, social and economic model, as an example for the development of the peoples of Latin America.
