Published at: 21/06/2024 07:10 PM

As if anointed by the gods, María Corina Machado grew up with the idea instilled by her family that she owns our country and deserves to preside over it by divine command. She is the daughter of Corina Parisca Pérez de Mendoza and Enrique Machado Zuloaga, whose last names denote their belonging to the exclusive Venezuelan national upper bourgeoisie.

Mrs. María Corina Machado is directly descended from the Zuloaga family, who at the time of the colony (during the beginning of the 18th century) were one of the largest slave owners of the time in Venezuela.

His family, Machado Zuloaga, was one of the largest shareholders of Electricidad de Caracas and of the companies Foundry Sivensa, Banco Mercantil, VIASA and Inversiones Tacoa.

His father, Enrique Machado Zuloaga, is a shareholder of the company Sivensa and was the president of the company Electricidad de Caracas, which he later sold to the American consortium AES, facilitating foreign exchange flight in the year 2000.

Promoters of poverty

After the fall of Marcos Pérez Jiménez, Wolfang Larrazábal established a Governing Board with the consent of the business leadership headed by Arturo Sosa, Eugenio Mendoza and Oscar Machado Zuloaga, María Corina's uncle, who, according to the research called “Maria Corina and her Popular Capitalism” conducted in 2012 by journalist Manuel Pérez Iturbe, then coordinated the Emergency Plan that pressured thousands of farmers to leave their crops and move to Caracas. These peasants settled in the hills, populating the areas with ranches, because they did not have access to buying housing, which was profitable for the Machado Zuloaga company that placed the light cables for them, as a valuable opportunity to obtain money from the State, making use of that million-dollar contract.”

In this way, Electricidad de Caracas transformed Caracas into a city of ranches; which in addition, together with one of its subsidiaries, called the Caracas Sawmill, destroyed the forests of the Caracas Valley to turn it into a cement city full of buildings built with their real estate agencies.

Promoters of privatization

The bankruptcy of the Venezuelan airline VIASA is also related to his family, as we saw how businessman Luis Ignacio Mendoza Machado, the first cousin of María Corina Machado, He was one of the last presidents of that airline, which was a joint venture of the Venezuelan State together with the Machado Zuloaga business group, who were responsible for selling it to the Spanish government IBERIA, also receiving illegal commissions as a result of this management.

On the other hand, it's good to know that her mother, Mrs. Corina Parisca Pérez de Mendoza, is a former tennis player who belongs to another of the wealthiest families in the country and was nominated by Fedecamaras together with Pedro Carmona Estanga; who proclaimed himself president in the 2002 coup against President Chávez, to join the National Electoral Council.

Later, Pérez Iturbe explained in his investigation that the disqualified former deputy María Corina Machado married Ricardo Sosa Branger, a member of one of the most ultra-conservative families in Caracas, linked to notorious cases of corruption and billion-dollar fraud.

Who is now her ex-husband, Sosa Branger is also the brother of Eduardo Sosa Branger, general manager of Unisys in Venezuela and until recently president of the Venezuelan Chamber of Information Technology (CAVEDATOS), and Ignacio Sosa Branger, former director of Bolívar Banco and member of the board of directors of the Isven C.A. Los Hermanos Consortium Sosa Branger were associated with the boards of directors of the banks that went bankrupt in 2010 and connected to the fugitive banker Eligio Cedeño.

The Branger family is part of the powerful Valencian oligarchy that controlled the agri-food industry in the center of the country until 2014. for several years now, the former deputy has kept her children out of the country, especially when she plans to fill the streets of Venezuela with violence, calling on the children of her followers to be cannon fodder in her calls for ignorance of the Bolivarian Government.

As we can see, this could be learned behavior at home, the way of doing fraudulent business and enriching yourself through the use of State funds, using for this purpose, the protection of the power obtained by your last names.
