The Ombudsman's Office launched the Mobile Defense Brigade in La Guaira to channel the complaints of those affected by the earthquakes of June 24.

The head of the agency, Eglée González Lobato, confirmed that the device will travel the Central Coast in order to receive requests for essential guarantees for citizenship.

González Lobato explained that this is the first emergency fundamental rights protection brigade operating in that coastal area.
The mobile unit will provide support and follow-up to people in vulnerable conditions during the crisis, according to a press release from the Ombudsman's Office.

The defender urged to report any violation of rights affecting children, adolescents, older adults, the disabled, assaulted women, indigenous people or members of the LGBTIQ+ community.

The brigade will coordinate responses with other entities of the judicial system and the public administration to ensure respect for fundamental guarantees.
