The journey of the national fire of the IV Municipal Games 2026 began

The national fire of the IV Municipal National Sports Games 2026 was ignited in the Campo de Carabob National Historic Monument and will tour the host cities of the competitions: Caracas, Aragua and Lara, the Ministry of Popular Power for Sports reported.

The ceremony was attended by the Deputy Minister of Sports Massification, Juan Carlos Amarante; the mayor of the Libertador municipality, Óscar Orsini; the general director of the Community Games, José Alí Uriepero, and the president of Fundadeporte, Leobaldo Gómez.

Uriepero reported that the national phase will be held from October 17 to 31 and explained that the program includes three components: physical activity, sports and recreation. He noted that the recreational area includes traditional games such as the metras, the spinning top and the perinola, while the physical activity component incorporates older people.

Gómez indicated that Carabobo will have a delegation of 180 athletes and highlighted the role of competition in training high-performance athletes. “The Community Games are the seedbed, they are the future of national sports. Those boys who dream of participating in the Olympic Games make this day have a special value,” he said.

The president of Fundadeporte explained that Carabobo will host four disciplines. The Battle of Carabobo Complex will host athletics and parathletics; the Bicentennial Field will host table tennis, and the Rolas Story gym will host gymnastics competitions.
